Frequently asked questions

Before you request a quote.

Answers to common questions about Solid State Automation & Controls, MC-PLEX®, industrial control panels and the RFQ process.

What does Solid State Automation & Controls manufacture?

SSAC engineers and builds MC-PLEX® motor control complexes, custom industrial and PLC control panels, HMI enclosures and related controls systems. It also provides controls integration, software retrofits, programming and commissioning services.

How is MC-PLEX® different from a traditional MCC?

MC-PLEX® is SSAC’s modular motor control architecture, designed to coordinate motor/VFD control, distribution, protection and operational visibility. The proper configuration and advantages depend on the equipment, electrical scope and facility requirements.

Can SSAC build UL 508A and UL 698A control panels?

SSAC reports UL 508A and UL 698A panel fabrication capabilities, as well as UL 891 switchboard capability. The applicable listing or certification for an individual assembly should be confirmed during engineering and quoting.

Does SSAC handle PLC, HMI and SCADA modernization?

Yes. Its controls engineering services include PLC programming, HMI/SCADA integration, industrial communications, hardware and software upgrades, commissioning and technical support. Share your current platform and modernization goals to begin scoping.

Does the 50-week case study mean every project ships that quickly?

No. The 50-week reduction was achieved in one documented motor control project compared with its original conventional MCC schedule. Actual delivery times depend on design, approvals, materials, scope and production capacity.
